Phase 1 Treatment
A child's first visit to the orthodontist should typically be around age 7 to monitor the eruption of the permanent teeth and growth of the jaws.
The goal at this age is not to make the teeth perfectly straight, but rather to ensure that there are no problems in development that may cause irreversible damage if not treated early.
Phase 1 Treatment
The goal of doing treatment at a young age is to prevent irreversible long term damage. Problems during development may degrade the permanent teeth and gums or promote undesirable skeletal growth deficiencies and asymmetries. Many of these problems may not be readily apparent on the outside, but can be detected and corrected early at the orthodontist.
Phase 1 Treatment
What should I be looking for?
We do a thorough evaluation at our appointments to ensure that growth is progressing well; A few common issues are pictured here. Dental issues are often overlooked during the window of time that they may be reversible, which can cause larger issues later on. We do not charge for our consultations and would love to meet you! Trust us to monitor your child's growth.
